Where can one get the list of all schools using OER?
Amy Hofer
01:23:43
As far as I know, there isn’t a comprehensive list...
Amy Hofer
01:23:50
Open Ed is a worldwide movement :)
Amy Hofer
01:24:01
Does anyone have ideas about that?
Jim Julius
01:24:35
Maybe was referring to the list of schools using OpenStax resources - that would be on the OpenStax website
Amy Hofer
01:24:52
Oh! ok, one sec...
Hara Brook, Highline College
01:24:55

Thanks Nicole and Amy! Valuable info!
Naomi Toftness

Suzanne Wakim
01:32:18
LTPA units is a good carrot
Suzanne Wakim
01:32:33
I meant continuing education units
Jim Julius
01:34:41
Is there any research or anecdotal ideas about what is an appropriate amount of release time/reassigned time for OER-related activities (e.g. redesigning a class to use already-identified OER, searching for OER to use, designing new OER if no OER can be identified, providing departmental or institutional leadership for OER initiatives, …)
Jim Julius
01:37:27
thanks! will check out the Georgia site
Dave Dillon
01:38:48
Question about the support network / monthly calls for schools… the slide was 10-12 new schools, correct?
Dave Dillon
01:39:26
Would you recommend trying to setup something similar on one’s own, or does it really need someone with Nicole’s experience to do well?
DW Wood
01:39:36
Once Nicole has corrected the typo, can she share a copy of the PowerPoint?
Amy Hofer
01:40:09
Yes I will ask her to do that!
Dave Dillon
01:41:15
Can’t see you being mean, but I hear you on “accountability.” Thanks!
DW Wood
01:42:49
Thanks, Amy.
Jim Julius
01:43:16
Nicole you could do a “train the facilitator” program - challenge the Hewlett Foundation to allow you to fund competitive applications for regional Institutional Partner programs ...
Christy Hightower
01:43:47
how important are quizzes and other ancellary products for the textbooks in terms of faculty adoption rates?
Tina Ulrich
01:43:53
Nicole, what lines of argument do you find work best to convince administrators to support OER adoption?
Jeff Douglas
01:43:56
What do chain bookstores think about OERs?
rsaunders
01:44:54
Retention, Tina--retention.

OTN came to RI and did presentstions at the 3 state schools, CCRI, RIC and URI. they are an excellent resource. I was able to add 3 professors immediately after their visit.
Amy Hofer
01:46:36
That’s wonderful! The OTN model has been a really effective use of program $ I find

01:47:38
My bookstore manager goes with me as an "expert witness" when I talk to groups about OER on my campus; the metric I use to convince administrators is from the Florida Textbook Survey which indicates that 46% of students take fewer courses because of the high cost of textbooks; textbook costs not only impact the bottom line of students, but also the bottom line of the institution
