Do you know if the specific challenges of Sickle Cell Mamas will be addressed in a specific educational effort?

Is there a New York chapter? New York state has a bill that would guarantee healthcare to EVERY NY resident regardless of income, health, employment, immigration status or other statuses. Includes dental, vision, mental, reproductive, etc. — I see this as a form of racial justice and relevant to maternal mortality and morbidity. The New York health act has passed the assembly already and there is almost a majority in the senate!!! Let’s collaborate!

Is pushing for single-payer on the radar? As this would alleviate financial barriers, remove tiered insurance discrimination, emphasize preventative care and continuity of care, etc?

(Single payer does not solve our super racist health system, but it could make space to address racism more directly by at least definitely removing economic discrimination and access to health care)

Thank you for all of your efforts in the Black Mama Movement. My question, is if you will have future webinars to help african-american be able to be better advocates for our maternal healthcare desires and empower us with the tools to ask questions, ask for services, etc.? For instance, question guides for our conversations with OB/GYN/Midwives, hospital staff, etc. I know that aloty of women don't feel empowered to question doctors diagnosis or recommended approaches, so that it aligns with our hopes for our births and pregnancies. Not sure if you would have a survey , for black mamas to identify possible future topics to do targeted webinars on?
