Isabel Chamberlain
Senior Manager of Food Safety @Plenty
Chamberlain is Senior Manager of Food Safety at Plenty, a high-tech company in San Francisco that focuses on precision agriculture in an indoor environment. Prior to this position, she was Lead Compliance Manager. Before joining Plenty, Chamberlain held engineering and operations roles for Trigrow Systems, Agrinamics and PodPonics. Isabel grew up in Southeast Asia and is a graduate from the University of California Davis. She graduated with a BSc in International Agricultural Development. . Since 2014, she has been immersed in the vertical farming world. In addition, Isabel is deeply passionate about the current problems in our food system. She is an advocate for using technology as a means for a sustainable future.
Simon Yevzelman
Director of Operations @Planted Detroit
Simon Yevzelman is the Director of Operations for Planted Detroit. Planted Detroit is a controlled environment agriculture (CEA) farm. It is rooted in the fast-growing East Side of the city. Prior to his work with Planted Detroit, Yevzelman was the Assistant Manager of Aquaculture Operations for Hudson Valley Fish Farm. He received a BSc in Microbiology from the University of Michigan. In addition, he received an MSc in Sustainable Aquaculture from the University of Stirling.
Jackie Hawkins
Senior Manager of Food Safety @BrightFarms
Jackie Hawkins is Senior Manager of Food Safety for BrightFarms. BrightFarms is an American indoor farming company. It is headquartered in Irvington, New York. BrightFarms grows and supplies local, non-GMO, pesticide-free, and fresh salad greens to supermarkets. The produce is grown in computer-controlled hydroponic greenhouses. In her role, Hawkins initiates and executes company-wide strategies to manage food safety and microbiological risks. Prior to her current role, she served as Corporate Food Safety Manager for BrightFarms. In this position, she was responsible for developing, implementing and managing food safety control systems. These systems were designed to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals. She also managed the SQF program and was responsible for all FSMA requirements. Jackie received her Bachelor of Science | Environmental Science from Oregon State University.
