Enhancing Diversity Among Academic Physicians: Recruitment, Retention and Advancement
Academic physicians tend to be predominantly white and male overall, and diversity wanes at more senior academic ranks (AAMC 2019: https://www.aamc.org/data-reports/workforce/report/diversity-medicine-facts-and-figures-2019). Creating a supportive environment to recruit and retain diverse faculty is critical in the development of competent physicians who are better able to reduce health inequities and provide high quality care. This webinar discusses national innovative efforts to enhance diversity among academic physicians through initiatives focused on recruiting and preparing a diverse pool of candidates to pursue academic careers and retaining faculty by supporting their well-being, development and advancement.

Attend this American Medical Association webinar and be able to:
1. Recognize the importance of recruiting a diverse workforce in academic medicine
2. Review the prevalence and factors that contribute to academic physician burnout
3. Describe successful faculty development programs to help promote physician advancement and well-being
