As the National Council for Behavioral Health works tirelessly to provide timely resources for our member agencies during the coronavirus, COVID-19 epidemic, we recognize that the magnitude of the pandemic impacts every behavioral health practice in the country.
In response, we are launching a series of office hour sessions designed to foster peer engagement and help you respond to the surge in care demands that you now face. The sessions will include updates on recent regulatory and policy actions pertinent to the area, discussion of current areas of most pressing concern, exchange of ideas for intervention, early identification and discussion of new concerns rising or anticipated and collaborative support as we all deal with these challenges.
The first in our series of operations and finance office hours will provide space for open discussion on the most critical operational changes and demands your organization has experienced, including finance, billing, staffing, and others. Leaders at Care Oregon and Cascadia Behavioral Health will share their approaches and lessons learned in defining essential services, staffing considerations and expansion of services for COVID-19 response.
How will it work? Your questions and most pressing needs will guide each session, which will be facilitated by expert staff from the National Council and Center of Excellence for Integrated Health Solutions. We hope to use these sessions to share best practices and strategies you have found successful in addressing COVID-19 across states and communities.
Other office hour sessions in this series will include the following focus areas related to COVID-19:
• Self-Care and Stress Management
• Substance Use Disorder Services
• Child, Youth and Families
• Residential Treatment Services
• Telehealth and Telemedicine
