Partnership with Parents Lunchtime Series, brought to you by Wheeling Country Day School and The Campus Laboratory School
(Part Two) Dr. Peg Dawson, Ed.D. presents: Smart but Scattered: Helping Children and Teens Strengthen Executive Skills to Reach Their Full Potential

Executive skills are critical to the acquisition of academic skills, but, more importantly, they are the skills students need to get things done. They are brain-based skills such as task initiation, sustained attention, working memory, planning, organization, and goal-directed persistence that are absolutely critical to school success. Some students seem to acquire them naturally, but many students struggle with them.

In Part Two of a two-part series, Dr. Peg Dawson, co-author of the books Smart but Scattered and Smart but Scattered Teens, will lead a Q&A session where parents can raise questions and share experiences
of the challenges they’ve encountered raising children during a pandemic.

The Partnership with Parents workshops allow parents, grandparents, and caregivers to meet virtually for lunch once a month to listen, learn, and experience ways to support children in their learning and development. Each workshop is uniquely designed to provide a deeper understanding of the many learning challenges students face and the myriad of ways to effectively design supports and interventions.
