In partnership with Patagonia and the Yale Center for Business and the Environment, we are launching An Entrepreneur’s Guide to Certified B Corporations and Benefit Corporations. In an era of “greenwashing” and misleading labels, Certified B Corporations and Benefit Corporations help consumers identify trustworthy companies. Signaling this commitment is a trend that has been catching on quickly, both domestically and abroad; to date, there are Certified B Corporations in 50 countries worldwide. Increasingly, entrepreneurs are considering how to create a company that has a positive impact on society, promote corporate social responsibility, and use the power of business for higher purposes of social good. This guide will advise on best practices while helping entrepreneurs minimize legal costs, and make informed decisions as to whether B certification or Benefit incorporation makes sense for the company at that time.
On March 29th, we will be hosting a webinar walking through this guide and discussing the potential impact of Benefit Corporations and Certified B-Corporations. The webinar will feature the panel below from Patagonia, Yale School of Management and Blab. Please join us!
