Implementing Low Power IOT Devices with Hybrid Energy Storage Systems
IoT devices continually consume electricity and often operate untethered from a power source. These characteristics place burden on designers as they do not want to limit the functionality of their devices based on the available stored energy. At the same time, users want small devices that do not require frequent battery recharge or replacement. Hybrid energy storage systems using both battery and harvesting technology can offer the reliability of a battery with the longevity of an energy harvester.

This webinar will present a hybrid energy storage system based on a Li-ion battery, supercapacitor and a mechanical trigger acting as an instantaneous energy source. The described design will be implemented in a GreenPAK Configurable Mixed-signal IC to allow a low power, low cost and easily modifiable design.

After the webinar, registrants will receive links to the free GreenPAK Designer software and all GreenPAK design files covered in the session. Links to the recording and corresponding application notes will also be provided.
