Pastor Jonafa Banbury

Pastor Jonafa Banbury is a dynamic public speaker, community organizer, and religious public servant! Pastor Jonafa is a graduate of Texas State University where she received her Master of Arts in Sociology. She is an ordained minister and founder of Commissioned Ministries with over 26 years of experience and previously hosted, created, and directed a number one rated online religious talk show titled “Listen Radio.” Pastor Jonafa currently serves on the board of the Dunbar Heritage Association which is an organization designed to organize, promote, and raise awareness for San Marcos' Martin Luther King Holiday Celebration, Black History Month, and Juneteenth Events. She and her husband, Alex Banbury, work together within this organization and hosts the only community-wide effort in the city of San Marcos to commemorate Dr. King’s birthday. She has been married to her ride or die partner, Alex, for over 26 years and they are on an adventure toward total plant-based living.
Vanessa Westbrook
Independent Consultant @Westbrook Consulting Services
Westbrook has been a resident in the City of Kyle in Hays County, Texas for 10 plus years. Currently, an independent consultant and semi-retired, Westbrook‘s career has included serving as a faculty member at Texas State University, University of Texas at Austin, and East Baptist State University; chief engineer and science specialist several Texas museums and NASA; K-12 classroom teacher at several school districts in Texas; and professional development provider to enhance teaching and learning in STEM education across the United States. Civic duties have included serving as a Hays County Election Judge, Hays County Historical Commission member, and Chair of the African American Heritage Committee. Vanessa Westbrook is active with various professional associations, Delta Sigma theta Sorority, Inc, and local civic and cultural groups in the greater Austin- San Antonio area. With a bachelor degree from Texas Woman’s University and three advanced U.S. degrees.
Jordan Buckley

Jordan helps to operate the region's film society, including the annual Lost River Film Fest, and works for a nonprofit devoted to transforming the criminal legal system. In 2018, he served as key staffer for Ruben Becerra's successful run for Hays County Judge –– the first non-white in 170 years to win the post –– as well as campaign director for Dr. Joca Marquez's triumphant bid for San Marcos City Council. Jordan also researches the history of organized white supremacy in the San Marcos area, resulting in an exhibit at the Calaboose Museum in 2016 and several provocative op/eds for local publications.
