This Webinar is presented by Frances Carter. Frances is a qualified human & canine first aid instructor and a complementary therapist.
With over 30 years experience teaching human first aid she noticed there was very little advice for pet owners on how to care for their animals prior to veterinary care being required.
In 2009 Frances teamed up with her local vet and together they wrote two first aid courses – a 1 day Companion Animal Emergency response and the 2 day Companion Animal first aid. Both are delivered throughout the country primarily at Exeter and Plymouth university campuses to students studying Animal behaviour, management and grooming. Over the years the courses have been attended by 100s of pet owners, dog walkers and dog sitters.
The aim of this Webinar is to make owners aware of the animal Welfare Act and how basic first aid skills can help alleviate suffering for your dog before veterinary care can be sought. CPR of all breeds will be viewed identifying the benefit of various techniques. First aid kits will be discussed taking in to considerations individual needs.
