Hindsight is 2020: A Year in Review
It was slightly less than one year ago where we first heard reports of a novel virus overseas that had raised cause for concern. Little did we know that by March 2020 it would bring our way of life to a grinding halt. This sudden disruption led to immediate reaction by our campus community, attempting to shift programming and services online as quickly as possible. It goes without saying that this shift has been challenging for everyone from students to faculty to support staff and administrators.

This webinar welcomes two senior administrators in the post-secondary system to reflect on how this past year has been a time of stress, a time of reflection and a time of adaptation. More specifically, it has been a year that has helped them realize “what really matters” when it comes to creating a healthy campus environment.

We are being joined by Carrie Chassels – Vice Provost of Student Affairs at the University of Guelph and Alison De Luisa – VP of HR and Student Services at Cambrian College to reflect on a year unlike any other. When it comes to “what really matters”, the discussion will focus on steps each institution is taking in the following areas:

Student engagement and community building matters
Academic policies and processes matter
Physical safety of our campus community matters
Financial stability and food security matters
Leadership Matters – Creating a culture of open communication, transparency and leading by example
