Government Relations Ethics in a US Election Year
So much of what the public knows (or think they know) about public relations is what they witness solely in the political realm – whether in the heat of election cycles, during minute-by-minute media coverage and social media salvos of the latest policy debate, or as political candidates and their spokespersons use the power of communication, either for good or for ill.

As the United States stands now only weeks away from its own presidential election, Beltway veteran Ed Ingle (@edingle) – a career alumnus of Microsoft, WPP and the White House, and now president of D.C. consultancy New Lantern Partners and strategic advisor to public affairs technology marketplace Poligage – will guide participants in this session through the ethics of U.S. government relations, particularly when stakes are even higher during an election year.

As author of the “Government Relations” chapter of John Doorley’s and Helio Fred Garcia’s 4th Edition of “Reputation Management," Ed will cover the fundamental points of ethics in lobbying, and share anecdotes from his own storied career.
