UCC/NCB Inaugural Memorial Lecture in honour of Dr. Rickert Allen

The University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) and the National Commercial Bank Group (NCB), will on April 14, 2021, at 10:00 am, host the inaugural UCC/NCB Memorial lecture in honour of the Late Dr. Rickert Allen, a former senior executive at both institutions. The Dr. Rickert Allen scholarship to a deserving student of the UCC will also be presented at the event.

The virtual lecture under the theme “Transformational Leadership and Readiness For Change” pays homage to Allen who served with distinction as Chairman of the Board of the UCC and Senior General Manager In charge of Human Resources at NCB , before his untimely death in April 2020.

She has a proven track record of delivery in core areas such as Learning &amp; Organizational Development, Talent Management and Employee Relations. She has been instrumental in the creation and implementation of several key policies designed to shape the landscape of the NCB Group. Miss Grey is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She holds a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management from the Long Island University in New York, USA and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Technology, Kingston Jamaica. An avid reader, Miss Grey has written several career booklets and career articles (for internal use). She also enjoys interior decorating, traveling and is currently developing a blog. Dr. Ché Bowen (CEO @MDLink Limited) Dr. Ché Bowen is an innovative, entrepreneurial and energetic medical professional. In 2018, Ché launched a telehealth service known as MDLink. MDLink has revolutionized access to healthcare services in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean region by servicing its patients virtually. Through the development of this platform, Ché has altered the insurance and medical practices landscape to be more inclusive and readily accessible. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, MDLink stepped in to fill the gap as clinics and hospitals encouraged patients to stay home unless cases were emergent. Leveraging his event management expertise, business acumen and passion for medicine, Ché has created a desirable product and a trustworthy brand. Venice Facey (Managing Director @BODY CONTOURING BY VENPOSH) Venice has a 20-year banking career, her last role before she retired from banking in June 2020 was a relationship manager in corporate & commercial banking, helping large corporations with financing and investing. She was awarded the top relationship manager of the year 2019 in garnering net deposit growth of over j$2.4b and over j$5b in corporate loans. Venice has been an entrepreneur for the past 8 years, running a body contouring spa, juggling 9-5 and a business.
