NCSEHE Webinar: Career construction, future work and the perceived risks of going to university for young people from low SES backgrounds
During 2018/19, the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education (NCSEHE) has supported Associate Professor Maria Raciti to conduct a Research Fellowship project examining the relationships between perceived risk and university participation for low socioeconomic status (SES) students.

Maria will provide an overview of her project and key findings, including a University participation decision-making model comparing the influence of perceived risks on students from low SES backgrounds with those from other SES backgrounds and identifying specific areas for widening participation interventions.

Webinar participants will be given the opportunity to contribute through a Q and A segment and feedback will be welcomed on ongoing opportunities to engage with students, teachers, parents and communities to apply the research
