Given the theme of Improving Your Vision and Elevating Your Performance and its subtopic Outside Influences, this proposal offers a four-member, panel-based, educational session illuminating how public expectations and federal call for more patient-centered care influenced our MHA Program's design and delivery. Correspondingly, a defensible theoretic foundation, its underlying principles, and the results of four NIH-funded evidence-based investigations, showing how patient-centeredness effects patients' experience of care, will be presented to inform anticipated change. Attendees will be introduced to the results of a recent empirical challenge to the premise that healthcare provider patient-centeredness influences patients' experience of care, using probing measurement experiments and national random test and control samples from emergency departments.
