Women United Speakers Series
Join us on November 12 from 7:00 - 8:00 P.M. for the first instalment of the Women United Speakers Series, Over DUE (Diversity, Unity and Equality). We will be joined by Grenadian-Canadian personality, diplomat, business woman, author, and the first woman of colour to take the title of Miss World in 1970, Jennifer Hosten!

Research shows that women are being more drastically impacted by COVID-19, with the majority of layoffs happening in women-dominated sectors, and a rise in domestic violence as more women are now trapped at home. Gender equality is the unfinished business of our time, with women and girls representing half the world’s population.

Join us as we build awareness on issues facing local women and their families, and work together to end the stigma around issues that women face every day.

Become a part of the conversation by registering today, and submitting a question. The first 6 individuals to email questions will receive an autographed copy of Jennifer’s biography, Miss World 1970: How I Entered A Pageant And Wound Up Making History. Please submit questions to jhundal@uwhh.ca.

Nov 12, 2020 07:00 PM in Eastern Time (US and Canada)
