This April, National Child Abuse Prevention Month (CAP Month), Prevent Child Abuse Indiana, a division of the Villages of Indiana, reinforces the role that each person plays in ensuring that children, families, and entire communities thrive by participating in the month-long nationwide awareness and impact campaign: “Everyone Can Make Great Childhoods Happen—Especially You!”
“April is a time to help people across the country understand that safe, stable, and nurturing relationships and environments are necessary to ensure that children grow up happy and healthy,” explained Sandy Runkle, Director of Programs for Prevent Child Abuse Indiana, “People don’t need to have special skills or be a certain kind of person to help make great childhoods happen—all they have to be is willing.”
Prevent Child Abuse Indiana wants individuals to understand that small discreet actions can make a big difference in a child’s life and a parent’s as well. It’s possible to do the things you normally do—cook, read, coach, make art, or play music—and, at the same time, help families and community prosper.
Join us online as we celebrate the kick off of Child Abuse Prevention Month 2020 with a ceremony that includes presentations from Sharon Pierce, President and CEO of The Villages Inc., and Todd Louden, Chairman of the PCAIN Advisory Board.
A brief pinwheel planting will follow.
