Melt Pool Modeling: Innovation in Laser Welding and Additive Manufacturing
As additive manufacturing technology continues to advance a new wave of manufacturing, CFD modeling has become a useful tool in developing and optimizing process windows, understanding material behavior, and performing design studies. In this webinar, we will look at how the cutting-edge CFD software FLOW-3D AM is being used to model melt pool dynamics in laser powder bed fusion and directed energy deposition processes. We will then focus on the extraction and analysis of model data to gain useful information, and discuss some recently-implemented features in FLOW-3D AM. Finally, we'll review relevant industry case studies applicable to both laser welding and additive manufacturing applications that show the use of the software for industrial applications.
