This November, as part of Clostridioides difficile Awareness Month, the IDSA Foundation is hosting a live webinar, sponsored by Seres Therapeutics, to bring greater attention to a disease that affects nearly 500,000 Americans each year.
Today's C .diff Talk raises awareness of new progress in understanding the pathogenesis of C. diff, which John G. Bartlett, MD, FIDSA, co-discovered in 1978. C. diff Talk is the inaugural webinar of the new Dr. John G. Bartlett Education Series, a collection of monthly infectious diseases lectures that honor the groundbreaking work and thought leadership of Dr. Bartlett.
Eliot Godofsky, MD, FACP, FIDSA, who worked closely with Dr. Bartlett for decades, will introduce this dedicated education series and kick off the event by sharing his own personal perspective on the legacy of Dr. Bartlett, his trailblazing work and mentorship of many.
Mark Wilcox, MD, FRCPath, head of research and development in microbiology at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and one of the most prolific authors and researchers in this field, will then lead C. diff Talk with his presentation, “Optimizing the treatment of CDI requires understanding why it occurs.”
Kathy Bischoff, a C. diff survivor and volunteer health advocate at the C Diff Foundation will speak of her personal experience with this devastating infection.
Register for C. diff Talk today and join us in paying tribute to the work of Dr. Bartlett, increasing C. diff awareness and saluting the researchers, clinicians and others who work to reduce the burdens of C. diff through research, prevention, early detection and life-saving therapies.
