ACT for ADHD
In this webinar, Kathryn will explore how clinicians can understand difficulties related to ADHD from an ACT-informed lens. She will delve into the role that experiential avoidance can play in maintaining problem behaviours, such as procrastination. She will also discuss clinical interventions related to different ACT processes, including mindfulness and values clarification, that can help clients shift unworkable patterns related to attentional difficulties.

About the Presenter:
Kathryn Palmer M.Ed., RP, CCC is a Registered Psychotherapist in Ottawa. She is a clinical associate in private practice at the Ottawa River Psychology Group. She has travelled across North America to complete extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with renowned ACT trainers. She is currently the chair-elect of the Ontario Chapter of ACBS and founded the Ottawa Affiliate of ACBS.

Kathryn has worked with individuals with ADHD for 8 years in in both research and in clinical contexts. She has been particularly interested in psychosocial treatment options for adults with ADHD. For the last 3 years she has been passionate about offering skills groups to the Adult ADHD community in Ottawa.
