COVID has resulted in most institutions engaging in virtual interviews to match their trainees. This paradigm shift has unique challenges as interviewing and recruitment has never been done through this platform previously. To prepare trainees for virtual interviews a number of educational seminars have been created to ensure virtual interviewee success. However, there has been little direction for institutions regarding the best way to successfully administer and navigate virtual interviewing. This session is targeted at program directors, associate program directors, faculty, and staff involved with interviewing trainees for academic programs.
The objectives of this seminar is to educate institutions about how to recruit during the pandemic, interviewing for equity and diversity virtually, how to write a letter of recommendation that conveys equitable information, and describe the do's and don’ts of virtual interviews for institutions.
