RTD on Indigenous Practices (AM) and Indigenization and Local Theologies (PM)
The Philippine Church is commemorating 500 years of Christianity from 2021-2022. The Theology and Religious Education Department of the De la Salle University-Manila, in collaboration with the Religious Educators Association of the Philippines, is sponsoring a Symposia Series from April 2021 to May 2022 to critique and reflect on 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines from a postcolonial perspective.
Following the theme, Postcolonial Christianities in the Philippines: 500 Years and Beyond, this round table discussion (RTD) will examine the topic of Indigenous Practices in the morning session and on Indigenization and Local Theologies in the afternoon session.
The morning session (10:00-12:00) is on Indigenous Practices with panelists: Ferdinand Anno (Union Theological Seminary, Philippines), Victoria Corpuz (UN Rapporteur on Indigenous Peoples), and Albert Alejo (Loyola School of Theology).
The afternoon session (2:00-4:00) is on Indigenization of Theologies with panelists: Revelation Velunta (Union Theological Seminary, Philippines), Eleuterio Revollido (Iglesia Filipino Independiente), and Pablo Virgilio S. David (Diocese of Kaloókan)
