Pronouns? Gender expression? Gender identity? Bathrooms? Transitions? Genderqueer? What does all of this mean and how is it applicable to your work?
According to the Williams Institute, an estimated 1.4 million adults identify as transgender in the United States. Organizations, particularly in the social sector, have grown increasingly aware of the importance of creating safe and welcoming spaces for transgender and gender nonconforming (GNC) people. This is especially true when it comes to equitable practices, opportunities, and policies.
In this webinar, Nico Calvo Rosenstone, Communications Officer at the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund in San Francisco and core faculty of the Transgender Strategy Center, will expound on his Stanford Social Innovation Review article, “Trans-forming’ the Workplace to Be Transgender Inclusive”. Nico will show you what it means to be an ally for transgender and GNC individuals, and help you understand how to be a champion for transgender inclusion – both inside your organization and in your community.
-Ten actions you and your organization can take to create a more welcoming environment for transgender people.
-What you can do to reduce unnecessary barriers transgender people face when it comes to finding good jobs and thriving in the workplace.
-How to access resources available to support you and your colleagues on your learning journey.
