Robert is the founder of Postlethwaite, the boutique law firm specialising in all areas of employee ownership and employee share plans. He leads the firm’s practice in ownership succession via employee trusts, including tax-advantaged employee ownership trusts (EOTs), and ownership models for the delivery of public services through employee-led mutual companies. He also has many years’ experience of helping private and smaller listed companies find the right employee share plan, whether for their key employees or all staff, then looking after all aspects of legal implementation. He has written and lectured extensively on employee ownership in the UK and overseas and as a founder of the firm he has written and been featured in several news reports including ‘The Guardian’ and ‘The Independent’. He has just written a book that provides the definitive guide to becoming an employee owned company, to be published Autumn 2019.

A lifetime working within the employee owned sector, Jeremy founded J Gadd Associates (JGA) consultancy over five years ago with the purpose of enabling values driven organisations to lever the advantage of employee ownership. A firm believer in ‘working together’, JGA offer a range of services from employee ownership transition support, creating effective democratic bodies, and supporting leaders to realise the benefits of EO In addition to building the business, Jeremy gained an MSc in Coaching and Behavioural Change, at the Henley Business School, specifically looking at the impact on an organisation’s leadership when they become employee owned. Jeremy is also a Trustee Director for Aardman Animations and The Rooflight Company.
