Survivor Healing Series Session I
Therapy: Mental & Emotional Health as Disruption
featuring Dr. Clara Whaley Perkins and Carynne Williams, MSW
Please join us as we kick off the Survivor Healing Series: Disruptor Edition with Therapy: Mental & Emotional Health as Disruption.
When it comes to disrupting sexual violence, mental health therapists play a pivotal role in helping survivors make sense of their experience and supporting them along their healing journey. They hold space and stories that were once secrets. In this conversation, we will explore how therapists act as disruptors, and how mental health advocacy is a tool we can use to interrupt cycles of violence and trauma.
Survivor Healing Series host Venkayla Haynes, will be joined by licensed practitioners Dr. Clara Whaley Perkins and Carynne Williams, MSW, who will talk about the impact of sexual violence on our mental health and the importance of mental and emotional wellness within the work of survivor justice.
The Survivor Healing Series is a weekly gathering for us to come home to ourselves and learn strategies that support our healing journey. Each session will take place on Wednesdays at 4:00 pm PT/ 7:00 pm EST.
Closed Captioning and ASL interpretation will be provided. Interpretación está disponible en Español. Para Español, llame 844-857-5555, código de acceso: 8117900
When we engage in the practice of healing as disruption together, we empower others to do the same. Disrupting rape culture is possible, and healing is our greatest tool for doing so.
