Accelerate China-ASEAN Venture Capital investment and Start-up Innovation beyond Covid-19

The pandemic is splintering the world economy, As the Chinese economy slows, some venture capitals see fewer deal opportunities in 2020; its slowest start to the year since 2013, with venture capitalists being more selective in funding. With the regional economy reopening, there is a greater diversity of capital, by fund structure, geographic-focus, stage and sector expertise in ASEAN. Innovative technologies such as personalised medicine, online education, drone-based solutions are gaining traction and is attracting fund investors’ interest. Unicorns are often born out of global crises, and will the technology sector birth off the next wave of unicorns as a result of Covid-19?
