Conscious Conversations Story - Time, K - 5 - "Magnificent Homespun Brown"

Children learn about race and differences by the third grade. Being still during the COVID-19 pandemic has forced people to be more engaged with media. Children are bombarded with protests due to social injustice, Black Lives Matter campaigns, social media commentaries and household comments. It can be a confusing time for children and adults. Local schools reported noose hangings, school names are changing and long-standing monuments are being uprooted. This digital curriculum will provide safe places for students and caretakers to engage in learning, discussions and activities designed to understand history and the role it plays as current events unfold.
