Committed to building a stronger, more resilient community through mental health education and research, Medicine Hat College (MHC), on behalf of the Brandon Niwa Legacy Fund – The Beej Project, has partnered with I Got Mind (IGM) to engage our region in important conversations around trauma, grief and loss.
This 75-minute presentation discusses the forms of trauma and the effects. The IGM team of professionals shed light on the forms of trauma as Bob Wilkie shares his experience of the Swift Current Bus crash and being involved with the Humboldt tragedy and former NHL goalie Clint Malarchuk shares his personal story of the trauma that he experienced throughout his life. This is an informative event that provides insights and action steps to resolving trauma. This is a critical topic to understand as trauma is an individualized experience and can cause issues we are unaware of.
