Please join us on Thursday, October 1st, 2020 at 7:30 pm EST for an educational and thought-provoking evening entitled Climate Change – What it is and How it Affects us All, with Dr. Dianne Saxe, hosted by Amnesty Canada’s Business and Human Rights and Indigenous Rights Group and Fiona Koza, Amnesty’s Campaigner for Business and Human Rights.
Dr. Dianne Saxe is one of Canada’s most respected environmental lawyers. She was the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario from 2015 to 2019, reporting to the Legislature on environment, energy and climate, and guardian of the Environmental Bill of Rights. One of the world’s top 25 environmental lawyers, she wrote the leading text on Ontario’s Environmental Protection Act and has a PhD in Law on Environmental Enforcement: Corporate responsibility and executive liability. She now heads SaxeFacts Law Professional Corporation, providing legal and strategic guidance on climate, energy and environment and hosts the Green Economy Heroes podcast.
Dr. Saxe will conduct a 45 minute session where she will introduce the concepts and realities of climate change from science-based, legal and public perspectives, including how the effects of climate change have a direct impact on human rights and what we can do to take action. This will be followed by a 15 minute Q&A session.
The event is sponsored by Amnesty International Toronto Organization (AITO).
