Welcome to the PAAM-Demic !
This is the 3rd of 4 webinars sponsored by Professional Arborist Association of Mississippi (PAAM).
Urban foresters and arborists require data-driven programs and tools to properly manage trees to reduce risk, improve awareness, transparency, and service, and maximize benefits. Top-down techniques such as GIS canopy analysis and bottom-up assessments like inventories are the basis for sustainable urban forest management & policy development. They are also instrumental in private sector tree care for estimation and operations. Examples will demonstrate how to conduct studies, leverage modern cloud-based software, and measure ecosystem services from trees in order to address a range of tree-related needs and issues.
Resources will be providing, for example these interactive online tree mapping systems funded by the Mississippi Forestry Commission: https://pg-cloud.com/Mississippi/, https://HelpStopThePop.com/.
Speaker: Ian Hanou, CEO & Founder of PlanIT Geo.
