COVID-19 is rightly on all our minds. Some of us may be suffering from the virus, or have loved ones who are suffering from it, or even have lost loved ones to it. If it is not present in your community, you are hearing about its impact and wondering when it will arrive at your doorstep. The unpredictability of life, the stress of quarantine, and social distancing are increasing anxiety for many.
In Philadelphia, we are significantly impacted. Schools, universities, houses of worship, and non-essential businesses have been closed. People are isolating themselves at home as much as possible, and grocery stores in some locations have run out of key items. Given travel and gathering restrictions, many planned trauma healing activities will need to be cancelled or shifted to virtual options.
While the future is uncertain and distressing, we are not without resources that can help us and others cope. Please join us as we discuss how to access and use THI's newly published disaster response resource: Beyond Disaster. In addition, we will offer practical ways to continue trauma healing ministry during times of quarantine.
