Road to Inclusion: Creating a Culture of Inclusion in Schools & Communities
Creating a Culture of Inclusion in Schools & Communities

During this webinar, Samuel Habib, 21, will discuss how he has built a life of inclusion in his school, family and community – while facing health and accessibility challenges due to periodic seizures, movement disorders, hospitalizations, fatigue and the inaccessible homes of his extended family and friends. Following Samuel’s presentation, Dan Habib will screen and discuss selections from his documentary films (such as Thasya and Who Cares About Kelsey?) and facilitate an audience discussion and Q&A. The films and discussion focus on effective practices to create a culture of inclusion in your school and community, including:

• Augmentative and alternative communication
• Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
• Universal Design for Learning
• Cultural responsiveness
• Peer collaboration
• Person Centered Planning
• Transition practices which support higher education and competitive, integrated employment
