The Black Family & Generational Health

From enslavement to modern day incidents of police violence, the Black family has been institutionally traumatized for decades. This webinar is curated for youth to have a space to explore how racial trauma affects the Black family unit. Youth in our local communities come together to ask questions with a licensed therapist to learn how to heal and cope through traumatic experiences and extreme social circumstances like the pandemic and social injustice. Youth ranging in different levels of education from high school to university level will raise questions about the stigma of mental counseling. The meaningful conversation will include several students, a licensed therapist and a community activist.
