A general and important interest of scientists nowadays is the development of more sustainable processes. In this context, catalysis represents an indispensable tool, providing access to the synthesis of complex molecules with higher atom economy and less amount of required energy. In the last years, novel metal-catalyzed approaches have been emerged, such as the direct functionalization of C−H bonds, which avoids the use of prefunctionalized substrates, resulting in overall reduction of synthetic steps and by-product generation, thus enabling more efficient, economical and environmentally friendly transformations
