Florida is an incredibly biodiverse state, home to over 50 species of snakes. Some species like racers and water snakes are quite noticeable, while many others are very difficult to see. There are only six species in our state that are venomous, but two are restricted to extreme northern Florida, with the remaining four living throughout the state. Join us for a talk with ecologist and snake enthusiast Brian Magnier as we will go through and learn about many of the most common and interesting snake species found in Florida. We will also take a look at snake anatomy, evolution, and behavior.
