The webinar will explore the challenges and possibilities aging parents face as they make plans for their adult children with disabilities after they are gone. There will also be resources shared.

Mona Fuerstenau
Director of Lutheran Ministry Partnerships @Bethesda Lutheran Communities
Mona Fuerstenau joined Bethesda in 2010. She is a parent of two very diverse learners, a retired speech pathologist with graduate emphasis in geriatrics and psychology, and an avowed disability advocate. She also brings what she has learned in her personal journey of parenting a 28 year old with developmental disabilities to her work. Mona was chair of the national Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Disabilities Task Force for four years after chairing the NW District Disability Awareness Task Force for six years. Mona guest lectures and writes on disability issues and has spoken for over 15 years at a growing number of regional and national conferences. She works towards a ministry model that successfully supports families who experience disability, addresses attitudinal and accessibility barriers, and connects people together in communities rich with the gifts of people of all abilities.
