Day 2: March 3, 2021 – CA HCV Landlord Symposium: Housing Our Veterans: HUD-VASH Vouchers, 10:00AM-11:30AM, PST
The Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD’s) Landlord Task Force welcomes landlords, public housing authority (PHA) representatives, and other industry partners to this 3-day California virtual symposium. The symposium is designed to offer information to landlords about HUD voucher assistance programs (commonly known as Section 8) including the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) and HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) programs. Each day will have presentations on a different focus area.
This session will introduce the audience to the HUD-VASH voucher program and the additional services the VASH program offers that benefits and supports landlords. After an overview of the HUD-VASH program, representatives from PHAs and the Department of Veterans Affairs will provide a panel discussion. The event will close with a brief forum for dialogue between landlords and PHAs about the HUD-VASH program.
Who should attend: PHAs, VASH case workers, and social services practitioners who work with homeless veterans
