Rieger (Senior Strategist, Libraries, Scholarly Communication, and Museums @Ithaka S+R) Oya Y. Rieger is a senior strategist on Ithaka S+R’s Libraries, Scholarly Communication, and Museums team. She spearheads projects that reexamine the nature of collections within the research library, help secure access to and preservation of the scholarly record, and explore the possibilities of open source software and open science. Prior to Ithaka S+R, Oya worked at Cornell University for 25 years. Her program areas included digital scholarship, collection development, digitization, preservation, user experience, scholarly publishing, learning technologies, research data management, digital humanities, and special collections. From 2009 – August 2019, Oya led the operations, governance, sustainability, and strategic development of arXiv.org, the OA preprint service for research papers in various STEAM fields. Oya has held numerous leadership positions with national and international organizations and published widely on topics like digital preservation, repositories, and more. Roger C. Schonfeld (Director, Libraries, Scholarly Communication, and Museums Program @Ithaka S+R) Roger Schonfeld is director of Ithaka S+R’s Libraries, Scholarly Communication, and Museums program. Roger and the team conduct research and provide advisory services to drive evidence-based innovation and leadership among libraries, publishers, and museums to foster research, learning, and preservation. Roger currently serves as a board member for the Center for Research Libraries. Previously, he has served on the NSF Blue Ribbon Task Force for Sustainable Digital Preservation and Access and NISO’s Open Discovery Initiative. He has authored dozens of research reports, articles, and briefing papers, which can be found at Ithaka S+R and the Scholarly Kitchen. Roger was previously a research associate at The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. He collaborated on The Game of Life: College Sports and Academic Values (Princeton, 2000) and wrote JSTOR: A History (Princeton, 2003).
