Colleen Countryman Virtual Colloquim

Join SPS and Dr. Colleen Countryman for her talk, "Going the Distance: Mobile Labs in the Time of Covid," on April 7, 2021 from 3:00 - 4:00 PM EST!

Abstract:
We will be discussing ways to address some of the challenges brought about by remote learning environments. The presentation will include discussion of evidence-based resources that keep students engaged, and how we might perform labs using some common equipment from home (both with and without smart devices). Finally, we will discuss how smartphones collect sensor data like acceleration, and how we might be able to best utilize them in our own labs. The presentation will be active, with several opportunities to share resources with others.
