Executive function and supporting positive behavior in ECE and beyond
This webinar will discuss the importance of executive function - a set of skills that help us to plan, focus, regulate our behavior, remember instructions and complete tasks – in early childhood education. Drs. Megan McClelland and Shauna Tominey from Oregon State University will discuss what executive function skills are, how these skills develop in young children, and why they are important for success throughout childhood and into adulthood. The webinar will also explore interventions that have been found to strengthen children’s executive function and later success, and strategies that teachers can use to model these skills and teach them to young children. There will be an opportunity to ask questions throughout the webinar.

After the webinar, there will be an opportunity to join an online discussion to further explore the ideas raised during the webinar.
