Higher Ed’s Responsive Strategies To COVID Bring About Faculty Confidence and Optimism
After a demanding spring semester brought a forced pivot to online learning due to COVID-19, institutions spent months preparing for a fall full of unknowns. In April, Bay View Analytics, OLC, Cengage and four other leading learning organizations took the pulse of administrators and faculty from across the country. Responses from faculty and administrators revealed the urgent needs of higher ed. In August, the same group reached out again and over 500 institutions responded. Leaders from Bay View Analytics and the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) provide a comparison of the spring and summer results of this evolving new research and the provost at University of the Southwest shares the story of how his institution fostered a movement around digital learning that is driving innovation from the faculty on up.
