Policy Briefing from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)
The looming risk of eviction filings remains ever present, and state and local courts across the country have begun planning for what happens when their local and/or the CDC moratorium expire. Over the next few months, NCSC will continue to offer programming and resources to assist state courts with ways to address upcoming eviction cases.

On Wednesday, April 28, from 3:30-4:15 pm, attend a policy briefing from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), who will offer insight about and answer questions concerning a recent Interim Rule issued in support of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s eviction moratorium. This Interim Rule requires debt collectors to provide written notice to tenants of their right under eviction moratorium and prohibits debt collectors from mispresenting tenants’ eligibility for protection from eviction under the moratorium; and for landlords who do not comply to risk action under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
