ECL Webinar|Diet, Cancer & the European Code Against Cancer
The European Code Against Cancer (ECAC) is an initiative of the European Commission, developed by the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). The ECAC aims to inform people about actions they can take for themselves or their families to reduce their risk of cancer. Leading cancer scientists from across Europe compiled the ECAC based on the latest scientific evidence on cancer prevention, coming up with twelve recommendations that most people can follow without any special skills or advice. It has been estimated that almost half of all deaths due to cancer in Europe could be avoided if everyone followed the recommendations.

Founded in 2012 within the EU Joint Action European Partnership Action Against Cancer (EPAAC), the ECL Youth Ambassadors for the European Code against Cancer brings together highly motivated young people from more than 30 different countries across Europe.

Primarily to facilitate the Youth Ambassadors training on specific cancer prevention areas, but also open to cancer societies and the general public, the Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL) has launched a series of webinars focusing on the European Code Against Cancer's messages.

This third webinar will cover diet and nutrition, with a focus on cancer prevention. ECL is delighted to announce as keynote speaker Prof Annie Anderson, Co-Director of the Scottish Cancer Prevention Network (SCPN).

Draft Agenda:

-Introduction to SCPN & the European Code Against Cancer (ECAC)
-Nutrition for Cancer Prevention
-Nutrition through the Lifecourse
-Dietary Behaviour Research
-Closing remarks
