Bill Even
Chief Executive Officer @National Pork Board
Bill Even is the Chief Executive Officer for the National Pork Board based in Des Moines, IA. Prior to his employment with the National Pork Board, Bill served as the Global Industry Relations Lead for DuPont Pioneer where he managed the global corporate engagement strategy focusing on collaborative stakeholder relationships in the areas of seed, biotechnology, biofuels and farm policy. Bill also served as Commercial Unit Lead for DuPont Pioneer in South Dakota, North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. In that role, he was responsible for leading the seed sales, marketing, agronomy, training, research, production and policy needs in the region. Bill holds a degree in Agricultural Production from Lake Area Technical Institute, a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business and minor in Economics from South Dakota State University; and a Juris Doctorate from Drake University Law School, where he was an Opperman Scholar.
Joe Weber
EVP Growth & Business Development @Smithfield foods
Joe attended the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign, and graduated in 1986 with a B.S. degree in Agriculture Economics. Additionally, he received a MBA from the College of William & Mary and graduated with Beta Gamma Sigma honors. In 1994 Joe went to work for Smithfield Packing in Virginia, as a Product Manager/Salesperson in Fresh Meat. In sales he his way up to Executive Vice President of Fresh Pork Sales and Marketing for Smithfield. Starting in March of 2016, Joe moved into the role of EVP of Growth and Business Development for all of Smithfield Foods. In this role, he is responsible for setting a strategic and growth plan for the company. He is active in developing new business lines and facilitating new growth opportunities. Joe also has the responsibility for managing all of the merger and acquisition activity at Smithfield.
