Environmental Justice Pathways Summit
Description
The EJP summit will host renowned national and state speakers, and create space for interactive discussions and presentations with the goal of creating a collaborative network and policy guidelines dedicated to Environmental Justice in the state of Oregon. The EJPS will feature Environmental, Cultural and Human Rights Advocate Sheila Watt-Cloutier for the annual University of Oregon Climate Change and Indigenous Peoples lecture on April 9 at 12 pm and the Keynote Lecture on April 10 at 6 pm with Dr. Mustafa Santiago Ali, with the National Wildlife Federation. Topic: Environmental Justice Pathways Summit Register in advance for this webinar: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_hnF8txTNSLORaxuDU--5LQ After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. ---------- Webinar Speakers Dr. Mustafa Santiago Ali (Vice President of Environmental Justice, Climate, and Community Revitalization @The National Wildlife Federation) Mustafa is a renowned thought leader, international speaker, policy maker, community liaison, trainer, and facilitator, He is also the founder of Revitalization Strategies, a business focused on moving our most vulnerable communities from “surviving to thriving.” Mustafa was the senior vice president for the Hip Hop Caucus, a national non-profit and non-partisan organization that connects the hip-hop community to the civic process to build power and create positive change. In this role, he led the strategic direction, expansion, and operation of the Hip Hop Caucus’ portfolio on climate, environmental justice, and community revitalization. He also worked for 24 years at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Sheila Watt-Cloutier (Environmental, Cultural and Human Rights Advocate ) She has been a political representative for Inuit at the regional, national and international levels, most recently as International Chair for Inuit Circumpolar Council. Sheila has worked on a range of social and environmental issues affecting Inuit, most recently, persistent organic pollutants and global warming. She has received numerous awards and honors for her work, and has been featured in a number of documentaries and profiled by journalists from all media. Sheila sits as an advisor to Canada's Ecofiscal Commission. She is also a senior fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation.
