William Bradford of Plymouth Plantation and the Mayflower Voyage of 1620
To mark the Quatercentennial of the arrival of the Mayflower, the M.C.T.A. and Actor-Writer Howard Burnham will present a characterization of Governor William Bradford of the Plymouth Plantation in Massachusetts. In 1656, the elderly Bradford in his 5th term as governor completes his famous memoir Of Plymouth Plantation, and recounts his life from birth in Yorkshire, through the religious awakening and struggles of his youth, to the Mayflower voyage of 1620 and the establishment of the second – and better known – English-speaking settlement in continental America.
