The UNGASS Declaration contains numerous commitments from Member States to improve public access to information, as well as enhancing civic space and protecting anti-corruption civil society organisations and journalists.
The panel will highlight synergies between UNCAC and SDG 16.10, examining public access to information as an enabler for prevention and enforcement and how the ability of journalists and anti-corruption organisations be able to effectively operate improves implementation of UNCAC and the SDGs. Panellists from civil society, the Open Government Partnership and UNESCO will discuss how to implement those commitments and monitor their through the OGP and SDG national processes.
