Join the rising movement to end oil and gas extraction in Utah! We will discuss ongoing actions in protest of the Utah Bureau of Land Management's mass sale of public lands to the oil and gas industry, a recent court decision that says the BLM must consider climate impacts, and the numerous ways the public can rise with us in defense of our future.
This call follows a month of bold action from Utah's young leaders. On March 15, high schoolers across the state went on strike for climate action. Ten days later, on March 25, Utah youth rose up in defense of the land and a livable climate as the Utah Bureau of Land Management held the largest oil and gas lease sale since 2008. Young leaders delivered a letter to Governor Herbert urging him to request deferral of all parcels in the lease sale.
