Many children attending our schools are living with diabetes. This webinar will give an overview of diabetes and how it may impact on a student during the school day. It is suitable for teachers and SNAs who are working with children with diabetes in the school setting. The following topics will be addressed:
Diabetes awareness - types of diabetes and medications
Hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia - changes in blood sugar levels, causes and treatments
Diabetic coma and ketoacidosis
Introduction to diabetes technology
Links to appropriate resources
Please note that no recordings will be shared with participants. Slides will be shared if the presenter is agreeable to this.
