Beautiful Butterflies
The 3rd in the Pollinator Steward Webinar Series hosted by Pollinator Partnership Canada with Habitat Acquisition Trust, Saanich Native Plants, and Parks Canada. The webinar series is for land managers, students, farmers, and gardeners with a focus on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. In the Butterflies webinar James Miskelly will discuss the history of butterfly populations on Vancouver Island, the issues they are facing, how to support them, and how to identify some of the common species. James Miskelly
Forestry Officer @Natural Resources Canada
James Miskelly is a research associate in entomology at the Royal BC Museum and a native plant enthusiast. His graduate research was related to the habitat requirements of rare butterflies. He leads native seed production at Saanich Native Plants and also works full time for Natural Resources Canada. James has been active in Garry oak ecosystem conservation for a long time and was a member of the COSEWIC arthropods committee for 11 years.
